Agreed 100%, Roz! This is one of my philosophies in life, too.

But try telling that to the fanboys (even those within the Queer community) who are willing to let Joy off the hook due to iconism -- the fact that she's a celebrity and/or because she's a comedian (and, apparently, comedians by definition should always get a "free pass" when people find their jokes offensive, due to their comedian status per se).

I posted this article of mine in a private FB-Group that serves as a social support system for the healthy sex lives of gay & bi men -- and, of course (as I suspected would happen), the usual suspects chimed in with their predictable caterwauling of "Oh, but at least Joy isn't Donald Trump / Michael Richards / Lisa Lampanelli / Candace Owens / or fill_in_the_blank"...
