Alan -- you are describing prejudice or unconscious bias. That isn't the same as any of the variations of racism (systemic, cultural, and/or social) that exist.

Everybody has prejudices or biases. The question becomes -- are we going to allow those prejudices/biases to control us, or allow ourselves incite transgressions against others?

Once somebody's race-based prejudices become actionable or behavioral, it's racism.
