Along with the personal attacks, it's also the hate-spewing (from certain authors who are allowed to get away with it)...even when they don't direct it at specific name-dropped individuals.

I've been compiling/updating a "shit list" (on a Microsoft Word Document) where I keep track of all the different Medium authors who write editorial pieces that specifically trigger me.
