Although I know very little about Colton's personal life and background...wasn't his family extremely religious and conservative?
As far as the talk shows I've watched, that have featured some of his recent interview segments: I know he has talked about receiving support from many of his family members (including his father) once he came out to them, much to his surprise.
Maybe another overlooked discussion should be: why do so many religions indoctrinate children with anti-LGBT rhetoric -- if, as in the case of Colton's family & social circle, they're sometimes ultimately going to be supportive when a member of their faith comes out to them?
(And yes, I realize many of us get disowned by our families due to religious dogma; but why should we even be put into the situation where we have to FEAR whether or not it will be a possibility, in the first place?)
