As a centrist Independent, a lot of your sentiments here really resonate with me.

I think the problem, when it comes to the Left, is that the hyperwoke caricature you describe is the minority -- but they often end up being the loudest voices in the rooms (and the media amplifies them). So, in effect, they APPEAR to be speaking for "the majority" of liberals and progressives...when, in fact, they don't.

You see a similar dynamic on the Right, with paleoconservatives and religious zealots.

Pete Buttigieg has been really good at articulating common sense policies and the dangers of false choices...but, of course, the Greek chorus of hyperwoke voices dismiss him because he is White and male.

I agree with the Left that it's long overdue for Black, Indigenous, & People of Color -- and women along with Queer people -- to be integral to the decision-making. But indoctrinating the general public with Robin DiAngelo's dogma isn't going to get us there.
