As someone who has a lot to learn about people's nonbinary identities, this piece resonated with me.
It makes me wonder how many "mainstream" historical figures might have been transgender or nonbinary -- but we'll never know, decades/centuries later, because they were forced to play the role of a cisgender person.
Also, I'm very interested in learning more about strategies or techniques for healthy ways in which to teach children about transgender and nonbinary identities from a very early age. Including what is "age-appropriate" and what isn't.
