Brilliantly written article, Katie! I agree with pretty much everything you've said.
The one area in which I think it would serve society to dig deeper is on the topic of male weaponized incompetence. I definitely agree with you that there are many men who "underperform" at domestic work in order to manipulate women in their household into doing a lion's share of it.
By that same token, there are women leading households who assume that "their way" is superior, by default. It's the whole "Yes, dear..." or "Happy Wife, Happy Life" trope. This would probably warrant a separate article/discussion...but why do we never explore a happy medium between these extremes?
