But my whole point, Jennifer, is that boys and girls (and nonbinary kids) should be taught the same consent-oriented curriculum, and the expectations related to consent should be the same for EVERYONE.

The narrative on "educating boys" implies that there need to be two separate consent-oriented sex ed curriculums: one directed at male students and one directed at female students. I'm not saying/assuming that YOU are individually advocating for this...but other people are indeed putting out such an insinuation, which is a big part of why I wrote the piece in the first place.

If the curriculum is designed making blanket assumptions about students based on their genitalia per se, it's destined to fail. It's only going to create more resentment and/or self-hatred amongst the students who are supposed to be learning from it.
