Yeah, there may have been a fear of intimidation that she harbored. So perhaps she was trying to preemptively qualify her anxiety and trauma because she was afraid of getting "canceled"? Or, she could have legitimately suffered from white guilt, and she was using her platform to grapple with her own internalized issues?

Since I'm unfamiliar with the Osaka situation, you'll have to clarify for me: is she still refusing to take ANY interviews from the press? Or did she just go on an extended hiatus from doing press, and she eventually resumed media interactions? Either way, I can only draw the conclusion that it must have triggered something traumatic for her...so if she isn't ready to do interviews again, she probably wouldn't be in any condition to give the sports reporters anything useful.
