Caren -- I'd be curious to hear if you think the Democrats would derive any electoral value from adopting components of my agri-sustainability plan:

Granted, the Farm Bill won't be up for renewal until late-2023, so any bragging rights after the fact won't be applicable until candidates are running in the 2024 congressional/presidential cycle. However, Democrats could easily campaign during the 2022 cycle on the promise to push for these reforms (as described in my ideal vision of the next Farm Bill) if voters reelect them (as incumbents) or newly-elect them (as challengers) in 2022. My premise is that this would help the Democratic Party greatly make much-needed inroads with the electorate throughout parts of Rural America.
