Chamilton -- I agree with what you're saying. The problem is that many people on the Left (often academics -- or, at least, they're the ones who started framing it in this way) refuse to acknowledge a difference between systemic (institutional) racism and individual (social) racism. They claim that any/all racism is exclusively systemic -- and anything else is merely "prejudice."

The overall lack of consensus on how to define racism just blurs the lines even more.
