Some of it might be self-loathing or internalized orientationism, on their part. Some of it might be the fetishization of crony capitalism. Some of it might be a lack of critical thought or an irrational desire to "belong."

Democrats' hands aren't clean, either -- when it comes to the degradation of the LGBT community. But, in the current political climate, Democratic leaders are at least trying to be better. Republican leaders aren't even trying.
