"Cutting oneself down to size" is largely performative, and doesn't really serve any constructive purpose. The #Woke men who engage in this behavior are virtue-signaling.

"Privilege" shouldn't be a dirty word. Acknowledging one's privilege, in whatever form that takes, should be approached clinically -- and then empathy (or whatever synonym one chooses to use) should come into play as the collaborative solutions are constructed.
