You're right that there needs to be a delineation in what's going to function as a short-term strategy versus a long-term strategy.

However, keeping one's focus *too* local risks allowing national dynamics to slip through one's fingers. Everybody needs to learn how to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Also, I reject the notion that everyone necessarily has to become a super-involved activist in order to be persuaded to turn out to vote.
