Deborah -- when looking at systemic forms of racism, there seem to be two separate competing (but conflicting) messages from people who consider themselves proponents of CRT:
1.) "When you're raised within racist systems, and then you benefit from advantage/privilege within those systems, and that, consequently, makes you inherently racist."
2.) "We are all indoctrinated by systemically-racist institutions that can and do result in prejudices or unconscious/internal biases; however, once you recognize what those systemic variables are (including learning the ugly history behind them) and work to challenge them, that allows you to transcend potential racism and it sets you apart from people who are actively or passively racist"
The second philosophy is more in tune with healthy self-empowerment and fostering universal compassion/solidarity.
The first philosophy is divisive and racist (in and of itself) -- but, even worse, it's counterproductive and self-defeating because it will only ultimately result in the exact OPPOSITE of what CRT proponents claim to want to achieve.
