Devon, thank you for this highly-educational piece! I was admittedly unaware of the history behind Hans Asperger and his transgressions. I was diagnosed at the age of 14 with what used to be known as high-functioning Asperger's.

I agree with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) as a blanket term, and I wonder if, eventually, a new synonym will be coined that could specifically refer to the narrow set of characteristics associated with what used to be called Asperger's Syndrome?
