Do you seriously expect the corporate-owned media gatekeepers to do this by their own volition?

If the goal is to reimagine an entirely new system of public safety, I'd encourage you to write a future piece that serves as a starting-point blueprint for what that system could look like. Because, until that is communicated widely, most people are going to continue to be dismissive of (or frightened by) the notion of dismantling the police...and phrases such as "Defund the Police" simply aren't going to get the job done.
