Double standards never work.
When someone tries to dismiss somebody else's experience by essentially telling them to "count their blessings" (which is, in essence, what is being done when we say "bigotry for White people, racism for BIPOC folks"), that is classic gaslighting. It's saying, "Oh, your life/experience really isn't as bad as you've convinced yourself it is..."
The whole point of my framework, here, is to reject the supposition that "racism" should exclusively mean "systemic racism." That's why we have the differentiator/qualifier of "systemic" (or "institutional" or "structural"), in the first place.
