Elle, I agree with what you said earlier -- that people/leaders/activists from marginalized groups should be the ones taking the lead on crafting systemic solutions based on their lived experiences, and should be listened to by the rest of society.

There will most likely be areas of consensus amongst members of those groups, when it comes to the actual solutions that need to be implemented. The greater challenge is when there is dissent amongst even members of an oppressed group regarding whether a particular policy is sound versus counterproductive -- and when certain actors might be hell-bent on pushing a narrow agenda despite whatever healthy discourse occurs, they resort to using the victimization/weaponization tactic that Colton has referenced in this piece of his.
