I'd also echo your sentiments, here, by likewise actively encouraging any White person (or any BIPOC of any racial/ethnic background, for that matter) to research (and educate oneself about) any relevant cultural history behind a specific hairstyle (when you're not already familiar with it, as it pertains to your own culture), before adopting it for your own use/expression. Ditto for other cultural entities that come from outside of one's own heritage.
And don't pass it off as your own; always give credit where credit is due, culturally.
