First I'll say: in my view (pun intended), Joy and Sunny are the most dangerous voices currently on "The View" (now that the Princess of Arizona has bungeed out of there). Out of the main cohosts, I tend to find myself agreeing with Whoopi the most (and then Sara, and then Ana).

But I definitely agree with you on Whoopi's blindspots, regarding this issue. You're harsher on her than I am; but maybe it's because I'm accustomed to Whoopi sometimes putting her foot into her mouth (and have become desensitized to it), and because so much of the rest of what she says about other topics makes sense to me. Sara at least values nuance, although her soft misandry tends to surface quite often. Same with Ana. Actually, out of the five of them, I'd say Whoopi displays the LEAST misandry (if any).

Joy's main problem is she is too egocentric when trying to fuse humor ("comedian privilege") with a conscious desire to be outwardly "woke." Sunny, on the other hand, is actually intelligent (unlike Joy), but she usually centers her own experiences/preferences/prejudices upon the social commentary she promotes...and then tries to hide behind her weaponized identity under the pretense of intellectualism and black/female excellence. Plus she's good friends with Michael Eric Dyson. :-/

My problem with Meghan wasn't her conservatism per se -- it was her intellectually-vapid straw man arguments, where she pathetically attempted to boil down every issue in the most overly-simplistic way possible in an attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Back to Whoopi: definitely agreed with you that her speech doesn't warrant suspension (let alone termination) -- but she does need to be educated on the impact of her words.
