For two days in a row, I've read some particularly resonant (for me) pieces on Medium -- and this piece of yours is one of them!

So if men act stoic and unemotional, we're giving into toxic masculinity and oppressing the world around us by refusing to embrace our feminine sides. But then, when we *DO* show vulnerability and speak up for ourselves, we're accused of being too "fragile."

Which means we're damned if we do, and we're damned if we don't -- which, incidentally, is the exact same type of cognitively-dissonant stigma that women have faced, for centuries, which became the basis for the original feminist movement in the first place.

I guess cognitive dissonance is only acceptable when the wielder uses it to advance their own agenda...
