Frank, to quote from your reply:
"Mainstream (pop-culture) feminism has become more about gynocentrism than equal rights. Popular culture, in promoting a conspiracy theory about a tyrannical patriarchy, is openly hostile to men as oppressor, casting women as righteous victim."
This is what I (and a few others) refer to as "neofeminism." Whereas classical feminism strives for gender equality wherever there are still systemic and social inequities..."neofeminism" is predicated on the assumption of inherent female superiority (or "female exceptionalism")...and its philosophy expects deference to women/girls in all areas of life, based on that misandrist/gynocentric premise.
Unfortunately, too many people conflate "feminism" (in general) with this toxic brand of "neofeminism," so it gets normalized within pop culture and the national discourse.
