From my perspective as a cis gay male "Millennial hippie," I don't understand why members of the LGBT community can't stand together and support one another's sovereignty unconditionally.
Cisgender members of the LGBT community need to learn from our transgender sisters and brothers and help to advocate for their needs: medically, socially, and legally.
Transgender and nonbinary/genderfluid people need to stop demanding that cisgender people identify as (essentially, for lack of a better term) "omnisexual." A good starting-point would be to QUIT using the term "genital-preference."
I'll repeat my original question: why can't we all SUPPORT one another? Whether it's someone who needs/wants to transition? Whether it's someone who is only attracted to people of the same (biologically-assigned) sex? Whether it's someone who is attracted to people of both (biologically-assigned) sexes? Whether it's someone who is attracted to people of all gender identities?
(I'm defining "attracted to," here, strictly in terms of sexual/romantic attraction; obviously, all LGBT people should be open to platonic friendships with all other members of our community -- notwithstanding people's individual toxic personalities, of course)
