Why not teach EVERYONE -- boys, girls, and nonbinary children -- about the irrationality of love? About the problems spawned when humans equate materialism and social status with sexual desirability and romance?

You mention that you were the skinny kid who got teased. I would argue that your harassers were the ones who needed to be taught NOT to hold your physique against you. Maybe their teasing didn't bother you, personally, as much as it triggered/harmed other skinny kids? But why should such ridicule be normalized, in the first place? Especially along gender lines?
