Hazlit -- I agree with you about the hypocrisy and contradictory sentiments exhibited by many women. But, in my experience, those personalities aren't representative of all women.

Nobody gets the balance perfect all of the time...and most people live with an IMBALANCE, in fact. The (heterosexual or bisexual) women who want their (heterosexual or bisexual) male partners to be everything all at once -- "sensitive, oh, but not too sappy" / "tough, oh but not toxically-masculine" / "emotive, oh but not too fragile" / "nurturing, oh but willing to compromise his physical safety to defend the ones he loves" -- these cognitively-dissonant women are going to end up either alone and/or unhappy in their domestic lives. But they aren't emblematic of all women.
