Hi E.P. -- if you're referring to the White population being below 60% in actuality, I highly suspect that is accurate.
The problem is that there are still people who insist on defining members of the Latino(a) / MENA communities as "White" (even if members of those communities self-identify as People of Color). So, I suppose I referenced the 60%-70% range as an attempt to try to meet people where they are when you have that certain subset of observers on the Left who insist that BIPOC folks are only comprised of people with Black, Indigenous, or darker-skinned Asian ethnic heritage/aesthetics. I myself don't subscribe to that reductionism...I view people of Latino(a), Middle Eastern, Northern African, Arabic, Persian, and Desi backgrounds as being part of the BIPOC community too, even when their individual skin pigments contain a lighter melanin content. Too often, I think that pundits and academics are prone to conflating racism with colorism.
Nevertheless, you have certainly held me accountable when it comes to statistical accuracy, and I will go in and make a correction/addition to this article, today.
