I really appreciate hearing your honesty, here. I think a majority of people can relate to the concept you're writing about in this piece -- we all have emotion, we all experience tragedy and heartache, and MOST OF US want to overcome our biases.

In an ideal world, everyone would be more capable of showing more grace and solidarity. Some people have already decided they don't want to do that -- and they engage in character assassinations of others, in the process.

When it happens to you, call them out on it. Don't let them get away with it. When we say nothing, when we fail to speak up for our fellow humans...it only enables intellectual dishonesty.
