How about, for starters, future Oscar award ceremonies refocus on spotlighting the award RECIPIENTS -- in their own words. Give them more time to say more during their acceptance speeches?

Cut down on the number of comedians and other self-promoting celebrities who use the platform to market themselves in-between award categories. Decenter the hosts (and they don't ALWAYS need to be comedians) and presenters -- re-center the actual winners of the awards in a way that gives them the opportunity to express their gratitude IN THEIR OWN WORDS.
