I agree with you that a pregnant woman should always have the choice of whether she gets an abortion or carries the child to term.

But, by that same token, if a woman has a baby and wants to raise her child as a single mother -- then the biological father should have the legal OPTION to sign away his parental rights/responsibilities, if that's what he chooses to do. There should be a window of time between when he is notified and when he must make the decision...this would prevent deadbeat fathers from pretending to "contemplate" the situation (for longer than is reasonable) in an attempt to try to buy themselves time.
