I can definitely relate!

As to whether it gets better...I've found that it depends on how I approach it.

With praise, I try NOT to get an inflated ego...but I zero in on the things someone has said about my writing or content that specifically resonated with them.

With criticism, I have to filter it a little more carefully...how much of it is useful, versus how much of it is gratuitous. There isn't an exact science to this. But, through exercising this ability, you can develop a really phenomenal "bullshit meter." That really helps when it comes to analyzing which of your critics make valid points -- or which of your critics are just trying to drag you down based on their own toxic worldviews.
