I definitely agree with you that the Republican Party isn't facing extinction anytime soon.

What they don't seem to understand, however, is that they will be facing a prolonged backlash that will grow more and more intense with each upcoming election cycle.

This won't sweep Republicans out of office en masse. Rather, it's likelier to create a "purpler" nation overall by perpetuating the culture wars and the partisan rhetoric that you've pointed out the GOP is so eager and willing to already embrace.
