I disagree with the people who are claiming that Ketanji Brown Jackson is "an affirmative action pick." She's immensely qualified, to the point of being overqualified (and I say that acknowledging that America is lucky to have her). Her critics are misappropriating and weaponizing the concept of affirmative action as an excuse to justify their racism.

Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett were appointed due to cronyism and rampant sectarian privilege. They are living testaments to the myth of meritocracy.
