I grew up with teachers telling a romanticized version where Rosa Parks was arrested because she refused to give up her seat due to "being tired and exhausted from a day of grocery shopping."
It wasn't until the 5th Grade when I read her actual autobiography where she shares her firsthand account. I wrote a book review of it, recently:
