I guess I would just push back and ask how much of the "echo chamber" effect is the individual writer's fault? Yes, Katie has a responsibility to refrain from feeding her own ego when that echo chamber rears its ugly head -- just like all of us have that same responsibility. But I'd argue that her "minions" (members of the peanut gallery who dote over an author within the Comments Section while protectively "coming for" any dissenters) are the bigger problem. They are emblematic of groupthink and the bandwagon effect.

Maybe your calling-out of Katie will impel me to redouble my scrutiny (or lack thereof) of her, when I read something new she's written in the future. I guess I've just read a lot of great pieces from her that I felt were well-balanced in addition to being hard-hitting, and that's an ingredient that's so often missing from many of the self-described "feminist" writers on this platform.

(Just a note: my frequency on individual writers' walls/feeds is often linked to what the algorithm flags for me; I think, in the case of this piece, it ended up on my email-based clustered "digest" that Medium "personalizes" for each of us)
