I just wrote a really long explanation, but it appears to have been "unformatted" and/or "deleted" even after I hit "Respond." So I'll try again, with a more condensed version...

If someone has racial features that suggest East Asian heritage, one might wonder if they've endured the "Model Minority" myth in their life. If someone has light brown skin, one may consider if they were stigmatized for hypothetically being a member of a Tribal Nation, or accused of "terrorism" if they have Middle Eastern ancestry, or stereotyped for belonging to Latin American ethnicities.

But you can't really know this until you engage someone in dialogue...and it's probably not going to be the first thing discussed during an average conversation. Once you do learn more about someone's background, though -- the key becomes what you *do* with that information. Do you believe them if they express how they've reacted, throughout their life, to a cultural identity that's been proscribed for them? Do they even want to discuss such subject matter with you? I'd imagine the latter question usually depends on what level of mutual trust has been developed.
