I suspect most people who think they oppose affirmative action would probably reevaluate their views if they could see examples of HOW the admissions decisions are made, when race-consciousness and so many other factors are taken into account. What people outside of higher education tend to lack is context -- what exactly the admissions vetting process itself looks like.
