I think one big problem is people ("relationship experts") who claim there is a one-size-fits-all approach for EVERY domestic/sexual/romantic relationship. And that's just when looking at heterosexual relations alone.

Then, add in same-sex couples or couples where one or more member is transgender or nonbinary. Watch "conventional wisdom" fly even faster out the window!
