I think one of the important distinctions to make is this: unless I'm misunderstanding the field, not every Critical Race Theorist necessarily agrees with EACH OTHER on every concept or definition 100% of the time. This is a similar dynamic to that of the thinkers and researchers who do work in feminist studies, which became a similar specter of demonization amongst the Political Right.
As long as the field of Critical Race Studies retains the ability for healthy dissent -- not just amongst its authors and researchers, but amongst those who study it -- it should be considered just as valid as every academic field.
