I think the moniker of "Millennial" was coined to refer to the fact that we were the final generation born entirely within the 20th Century (a millennium), since members of Generation Y are those born between the early-eighties up through the mid-nineties.

For members of Generation Z, the nickname "Centennials" refers to how they were the first generation to be born as we transitioned into the current (21st) century...and they will be society's elders as this current century closes out (being the eldest senior citizens between the years 2090 and 2099). Additionally, the term "Zoomers" was coined to interchangeably refer to them as a spin on "Boomers" (although replacing the "B" with a "Z")...but also having the double-significance of Gen Z being the first kids who grew up with Zoom/Skype and other types of video-conferencing commonplace in their homes (and, ultimately, this ended up becoming EVEN MORE significant when the pandemic forced so many schools to temporarily suspend classroom learning).

"Alphas" (Generation AA) will be in a position where they pretty much master every type of mainstream cutting-edge technology by the time they reach college/adulthood...therefore, they'll be the alphas -- in terms of their skill sets -- compared to every single generation that has preceded them.
