I think too many elements of socialism are glorified and overly-romanticized by people on the Left. It's probably a reaction to extreme poverty that exists in the world.

I have honestly never seen "participation trophies" given out to kids; I seriously believe the whole concept is just an urban legend that took on a life of its own in the minds of ageist people who hate younger generations.

I believe there's a healthy balance between teaching kids how to manage stress/rejection versus shaming them for showing their emotions. Again, like with so many things in life...it's when we veer too far in one direction or the other where character deficiencies are created. And, as a person with a neurobiological disability myself, I know firsthand what it's like to be marginalized and dismissed for "getting too emotional"...you have to keep in mind that coping with life's adversities can't necessitate a one-size-fits-all approach.
