I understand why a woman would withhold the info from her former sexual partner if she is afraid of him violently coming after her.

But then, by that same token, in that scenario, she shouldn't be able to suddeny resurface in his life years after the baby was born (when she'd never told him about the child in the first place) demanding years of back-child support.
