I was once hired for an elementary school aide position -- and, during my interview, the principal and vice-principal (both women) indicated that they were excited about the idea of having more positive male role models on staff for the kids (as women outnumbered men on the faculty/staff by a ratio of about 7:1).

I don't know how many other people interviewed for the position...but were there more qualified women who were passed over in favor of me?
