I'm assuming that these patriarchial idealists, here, are praising the dependent man on his skill of "controlling" and "managing" those multiple women on whom he relies for his lifestyle perks.

I'm a huge proponent of men taking care of other men -- not only to reduce the physical/emotional burden on women, but also to foster true male camaraderie.
