I'm definitely in agreement with you that the events depicted in the Bible should be taken with a grain of salt. It sounds as though you may have some agnostic tendencies, if not being agnostic outright?

I'm inherently skeptical of the notion that any authors of any religious text have the capability to carry out the messages of any hypothetical deity with 100% accuracy. This is part of why I view Scripture from an agnostic framework. It's impossible for us to know what parts of the Bible were some divine mandate communicated through a human vessel...versus which parts of the Bible were human beings making shit up based on their prejudices and emotional insecurities.
