I'm not saying comedians should necessarily be held to a HIGHER standard. But they SHOULDN'T be categorically held to a LOWER standard than non-comedians.

It's not that the comedian himself or herself is "dangerous," per se -- rather, the worldview they may be peddling is. Of course, if I voluntarily went to a comedy show...then, yes, I would go in EXPECTING political incorrectness. In that scenario, I'm free to leave anytime I want. But when the comedian brings such potential ignorance into OTHER VENUES...*that's* where it can become problematic.
