I'm not sure how familiar Whoopi is or isn't with the writings of Mills. She didn't really make his point in any of the follow-up interviews I saw her give.

Not having read Mills myself, he does indeed raise a valid question: why does the American education system teach students about the Holocaust above all other global genocides. It makes me want to LEARN ABOUT more of the genocides that have taken place across the globe, of which I'm largely uneducated.

We can still have these conversations without dismissing the racism faced by groups and individuals who aren't Black.
