I'm part of this microgeneration, and I think we can take it upon ourselves to "rebrand" ourselves. Some alternative terms:
Xennials
EchoGens
OTGs ("The Oregon Trail Generation")
or simply Gen Y
Have you read "Can't Even" by Anne Helen Petersen? She does an excellent job of using contextual analysis to provide a comprehensive overview on legitimate Millennial trauma. In fact, today I published a book review on it:

I still stand by my core philosophy when it comes to intergenerational dynamics: Xers, Millennials, and Zoomers have more in common than what divides us. And let's not forget the Alphas, who'll begin to come-of-age as this current decade winds down.
