I'm saying it shouldn't be an expectation for *either* you *or* your guy -- but if one of you CHOOSES to do it for the other, it's a nice gesture.

My point is that I view such behavior as "chivalry" regardless of whether it's a man doing it for his wife/girlfriend or a woman doing it for her husband/boyfriend. I don't see any logical reason why "chivalry" necessitates either specific genitalia or one person necessarily playing a gender role.
