Indeed, Gen X was the original "punching bag" generation. But then it transferred down to Gen Y -- and, it's remained stuck there...even though some elders do have some selective criticisms of Gen Z. For whatever reason (*cough!* ageism *cough!*), a lion's share of society's disdain still seems to be directed at my generation (Gen Y).
